Website redesign and creation of an online store on Shopify for a nonprofit organization
La Grande Table’s mission is to improve the quality of life for families and children in need in Sherbrooke by providing meals and promoting social integration. The organization offers low-cost meals (based on family income), lunch boxes for schoolchildren in need, and frozen meals for parent-students at Cégep and University.
At a pivotal moment to establish its web strategy, La Grande Table wanted to revamp its brand image and online positioning. Additionally, the organization sought to offer an online ordering service for prepared meals to reach a broader customer base. The existing website no longer met their needs.
With the new Shopify website, the organization gained better visibility for its range of services, facilitated donations, gained the ability to manage their own site and online orders, and showcased La Grande Table’s initiatives and values to the community.
Since the organization was not using any online tools to manage orders, our solutions enabled them to transition to e-commerce and improve efficiency in administrative management.

OUR SOLUTIONS
To better understand the scope of services and interventions offered by La Grande Table, a content strategy was proposed. This significantly improved the website navigation as well as how the organization is perceived by its customers and donors. Each content page was carefully planned to improve the understanding of the organization and enhance the user experience on the site.
La Grande Table also provides prepared meals for families in need. To expand its offering to a wider customer base, the organization wanted to enable online sales of these meals. We chose Shopify as the platform because it is easy to manage for the client, and it allows easy integration with Alice POS, the internal product and inventory management system, and Monéris, the payment platform.
Meal quantities per person versus per family had to be established to adhere to the organization’s business rules. We set up these rules and adjusted the account to reflect the two profile types.

*The online meal sales project is developed but currently on hold due to administrative challenges at La Grande Table. Meal sales will be available by 2025.
